Capitol Lakes Foundation

Thank You, Madison Community Foundation!

Many thanks to Alison Helland with Madison Community Foundation who came to Capitol Lakes on April 10th to share information on charitable giving options.  38 residents and guests came to the Grand Hall to learn how to make lifetime and legacy gifts from retirement accounts, how to establish a Charitable Gift Annuity, as well as new giving opportunities under the Secure Act 2.0.

While Alison stressed that you should always consult your tax, legal, and financial advisors before implementing your charitable giving plan, her presentation provided helpful strategies on tax advantageous ways to give.  Whether it’s making a Qualified Charitable Distribution from your IRA during your lifetime or establishing a Charitable Gift Annuity that benefits your charity of choice after your death, these options have major benefits for you and the causes you care about.

If you missed Alison’s lecture, but are interested in learning more check out a PDF of her handout:

After reading, if you have questions or want to put these strategies into action to support those who live and work at Capitol Lakes please contact Foundation Director, Lenee Kruse, at 608-283-2013 or by email at lkruse@retirement.org.

Thanks for all you do to make so many positive outcomes possible here at Capitol Lakes, throughout Madison, and beyond.  And a special thank you to Madison Community Foundation for all they do to assist non-profits throughout southern Wisconsin as well as their work to help individuals achieve their philanthropic goals.
