Capitol Lakes' Cycling without Age program has always given our residents an increased sense of mobility and freedom. But during the Covid-19 pandemic these rickshaw rides provide access to the outside that – especially for our residents with mobility issues – might not otherwise be possible.
Guta Cvetkovic, Capitol Lakes’ Chaplain, took the rickshaw out for the first time early in June. Taking all available safety measures, he hopes to continue offering single resident rides throughout the summer season.
When the Capitol Lakes Foundation’s Board approved the grant to bring the rickshaw to campus in 2016 they could not have foreseen the crisis that we are all living through today. But their commitment, along with the commitment of our generous supporters, to enhance the living experience for our residents is truly paying dividends during these difficult days.
